Unforgettable experiences come from travelling. Yet, it can be so expensive with children. This 4 hacks will help you see the world for less!

1.  Book last minute

A surprise vacation is something your children will never forget and could save you hundreds of pounds!

Although there’s no guarantees, the combination of being flexible (on dates and airline) and booking last minute can save you hundreds of pounds, even during peak times! Follow airlines and hotels on Twitter to get last-minute deals.

Mums be aware! The council will fine you £60 if you go on holidays with your children during term time without permission from the headteacher. The fine will double to £120 after 21 days. You’ll be prosecuted for the child’s absence from school if you fail to pay within 28 days.

2. Pre-book the airport parking

Reduce stress and costs by booking your airport parking in advance. Prices fluctuate, but a week at Heathrow’s long stay car park in August costs an average of £200; you can reduce this bill to £85 just by booking in advance.

3. Take your own airport snacks

Not so long ago, food wasn’t permitted through security. However, rules have changed and you can now take as much food as you will. Airport food isn’t great… Yet, prices can double one you’ve passed through security. Pack your favourite goodies in advance to save extra money! Note, liquids are still a no, no.

4. Copy the locals

Eat, shop and move in the same way a local would do. Local humble food is cheaper than eating in touristic aimed restaurants. In the same way,  taxis are a lot more expensive than public transport. Be adventurous and save money by embracing the culture of the country you’re visiting. Don’t be scared to ask, people love to brag about their homeland!
