Set Your Target

Set a target amount and date. Knowing how much and when you need to save for will make you focus on your goal.

You should plan to achieve enough money for your travels well in advance, allowing extra time for potential emergencies.

Sell your unwanted belongings

Sell your no longer needed items: clothes, old-fashion video games, old furniture, toys… Be  roughless and sell anything you haven’t used for the last year, you’ll achieve a decluttered house and extra cash for your travels!

Only Spend Money On What You Really Need

Draw two columns on a paper/spreadsheet under the titles of Need and Want. Check your monthly expenditures and place everything under the column it belongs to. Be honest, you don’t really need a daily caramel cappuccino, a weekly take away and/or pub night. Add up the amount from everything you’ve noted under Want. Instantly save by cutting the wants out.

Do free things

Keeping your children entertained for free can seem impossible. However, kids love getting messy, bake a cake, do homemade playdough, go to the park and take a picnic… There are so many free things to do with your children!

Do you have plenty of time on your own? Why don’t you volunteer for a local charity? You could help children, animals and lots more causes just by volunteering your free time. Volunteering is a rewarding experience, you’ll get to help out for a good cause, experience something new and meet people!

Go au natural

Have you been colouring your hair since forever? Why don’t you go back to your natural colour? Going back to your own colour supposes a cut back on hairdressers expenditure. In addition, your hair will be stronger and healthier.

Stop your gym membership

Gym memberships are expensive. Why don’t you swap your gym workout for exercise in the park or join a local sports team? Burning calories outside will help raise your savings.
